Is the MCAT standing in the way of your medical school dreams?
Are you overwhelmed or unsure of how to hit your target score in time?
To the point where all those years of sacrificing personal time to study, research and volunteer will go to waste because this ONE exam is holding you back?
I get it because I’ve been there.
For me, it all came crashing down when I nearly failed organic chemistry.
The problem: I approached this subject as I did any other.
Memorization + attempted regurgitation.
It didn’t work for organic chemistry, and it certainly doesn’t work for the MCAT. (Now before you scream and run for the hills, rest assured. When I retook the course, I not only aced it, but I also came out at the top of my class in both Orgo 1 and Orgo 2.)
What does this have to do with the MCAT?
It was HOW I finally aced orgo that gave me insight into an effective strategy for learning all the difficult sciences. It pushed me onto a path of working with premeds, rather than going to medical school myself.
I’ve been working with thousands of students for the past decade- watching them go from an overwhelmed and frustrated premed, to medical student, and finally, to doctor!
The most important thing I’ve learned (and you can probably agree) is that every student is unique.
Every situation is different.
Every background is truly one of a kind.
No wonder the ‘generic' MCAT plans are too confusing. When you go online searching ‘how to prepare for the MCAT’, you’ll see a hefty search result of generic plans. These will not only not help but are more likely to confuse you even further.
Most MCAT Programs Don’t Set You Up For Success
Obviously, the big name courses work for many students, but not everyone. Most of these programs are generic, big-name, cater-to-the-masses programs with a standard curriculum, attempting to force you into a specific mold…
Class starts on ‘this day’ and ends on ‘this day’, and you better be ready during ‘this time.’ If you have a family emergency, or get sick, or have to deal with a school project, “sorry!” The course doesn’t wait. You fall behind. And get even more overwhelmed.
Not helpful. Money down the drain.
Instead of gaining insight as to how you can improve, you start to doubt yourself! Your advisor hints that you should give up on your dreams. Maybe consider a career in nursing or research. Or apply to medical school overseas where you can get away with no or low MCAT scores.
Your family and friends start hinting at other career opportunities. Because you've already wasted so much of your life. And you feel completely submerged and devastated.
That voice in the back of your mind starts considering it, as you doubt yourself even more. Until you ask yourself, “Is that what’s best for me in the long run?” You’re not ready to give up on your dreams!
Sound familiar? These are just some of the stories I’ve heard from past students. Students currently IN medical school or accepted and waiting to start!
Their advisors quickly change their tune, of course: “I knew you would get in…”
Family and friends too: “We knew you had it in you. You’ll make a great doctor!”
What changed??
What took these students from confused and doubtful premeds to doctors in training? The answer is not a big secret. It’s not even complicated. It was simply learning to understand:
- Who they are as a premed student
- What they specifically needed (a custom plan)
And being given:
- Step-by-step guidance
- A means for executing their goals
- And accountability every step of the way to ensure they always stayed on track.
More importantly, they knew exactly how to pivot when life didn’t go according to plan.
(Because does it ever?) With my experience working with premeds over the last 10 years, I’ve noticed the pattern, a trend of common issues. But I’ve also noticed that no two students are alike, and so no two programs should be alike!
And with this pandemic wreaking havoc on your best-set intentions, it's even MORE important to have a plan catered to YOUR individual needs and goals.
THAT is why I created The MCAT Study Hall.
The MCAT Study Hall is not a generic pre-set program for the masses. Instead, it’s a guided, molded to fit your situation, MCAT program.
I, Leah, get to know YOU!
(No other program cares enough to know their students.) I get to know your needs and situation. And then I personally will help you lay out your plan of attack on this exam. I take you by the hand and walk you step-by-step through every phase of your MCAT prep. It’s guided, yet self-paced. I'll show you what to do. I'll show you how to do it. And I'll provide learning resources. I’m here to guide you, hold you accountable, and help you pivot as life happens.
I’m not a student, premed, or professor.
The MCAT Study Hall is not a ‘prep course taught by a part-time student or professor' who is doing this on the side. MCAT prep is what I do full time. And when I’m not teaching MCAT prep, I’m speaking with students who’ve recently tested! I’m figuring out what went right, what went wrong, and helping them figure out how to improve next time.
I make it my mission to know and learn everything about this exam.
This way, I can keep you up to date every step of the way.
“Prior to registering for the MCAT study hall I was skeptical due to a prior failed attempt on studying for the exam for several months with another tutor that had a generic study schedule that was not working out for me. To say I was discouraged is an understatement then I came across Leah and exchanged various emails with her regarding all of my concerns I knew I needed accountability and as she mentioned to ‘hold my hand’ through this marathon and that I didn’t have to do it alone. As soon as i signed up there was a sense of relief, she is so organized and gives step by step instructions. After having a strategy session I felt prepared with a schedule that fits ME personally. Without a doubt Leah is full of heart with her students and truly cares about helping them tackle each obstacle. To me she is an invaluable resource. I am so grateful to have her every step of the way, AND she actually cares to work with me and deal with all my nonsense to make me better! :)” — Yezenia

What If?
Do you think it would make a difference in YOUR overall prep if I sat down with you, figured out exactly where you are in relation to your goals, helped you set up a plan to reach your targets, walked with you through executing that plan and everything related to your MCAT prep? Answering your questions, giving guidance, and helping you figure out the next steps if and when life happens to interrupt?
Do you think that would make a difference on your final scores?
This is a “monster” of a test. With a lot at stake. Enough to make most students panic.
Truth is, you don’t have to be intimidated by the piles of books, hours of practice tests, and the sheer volume of information you need to cover. Instead of succumbing to shortness of breath and paralysis, you need to break everything down into manageable chunks and then figure out what you need to accomplish each day, week, and month so that you’ve covered everything by the time you take the test.
In working with thousands of students, I've discovered that the secret to successful MCAT prep boils down to three things:
- Foundation – because even though it’s not a content exam, you still need a rock-solid content foundation to tackle passages and questions; being aware of your weaknesses, strengthening them, leaving no gaps, and then maximizing your strengths for your best scores.
- Strategy – so you know exactly what to do every step of the way; create a road map of your goals with measurable checkpoints and accountability.
- Support – because it’s so easy to lose your way, to feel overwhelmed and alone, and you can’t afford to give up now. You don't have to do this alone.
“Most test prep companies throw material at you in such big fancy words that it’s difficult to understand. Leah is very accessible, as she will respond back to you in a very quick and timely manner, whereas some other big name companies will not communicate with you personally. When I emailed my [other company] instructor he replied saying “I'm not paid to answer questions outside of class” – Ruhani
MCAT Study Hall (Limited # Spots)
Given the time and energy required to ensure every student gets my full attention, the MCAT Study Hall is limited in how many students are accepted into this level at any given time.
This is to ensure you get 100% of my attention without taking time away from my family.

It's easy to feel alone, especially when we're all so isolated in this pandemic.
Your friends don't understand why you, the SMART ONE, are working so hard. Your family can't fathom how it can possibly take weeks to raise your exam score by one measly point. Fellow classmates may be intimidating, ill-informed, or sabotaging in nature.
The MCAT Study Hall includes a Bonus, competition-free Facebook community.

“I was really hesitant and worried that [your videos] would be just as useless as the other prep companies and only give surface explanation of topics but boy was I wrong. You go waaaayyy in depth and explain all the foundational concepts in chemistry and physics. Through your videos, I now realize that my foundation in chemistry was extremely weak and all this time I’ve been trying to build an MCAT-sized chemistry house on a weak foundation!! By watching your videos I am able to re-learn and experience several “ah-ha” moments that are crucial for me to expand and build my understanding of the MCAT chem/phys section.” – Bless
Saving Time and Money
A knowledgeable MCAT tutor will cost anywhere from $100-$500 per hour. I personally charge $199 (daytime) – $249 (nights/weekends) per hour for private tutoring. And if we worked on all of this together, from teaching you content to daily meetings for your tutoring questions, it would cost tens of thousands of dollars. And yes, there are students out there who pay this much because you can’t put a price on your dreams, right? But, that’s just not possible for so many.
Now, this program won’t cost you tens of thousands, not even close.
But think for a moment, if it did (and you had that financial option).
Would it be worth it to you if it meant finally putting on that white coat as you prepare to enter the medical school of your choice?
Finally getting the MCAT chapter of your pre-med career aced and out of the way! Remember, here’s the thing: Every student is different. Therefore, every MCAT Study Hall plan is unique. So every MCAT Study Hall experience is unique. I won’t lock you into an ‘x months and you better finish’ program. Because you already have enough pressure from the exam itself.
Instead, the program becomes YOURS. It’s structured to YOUR NEEDS and to your timeline:
“After trying the big name MCAT prep classes and struggling through overfilled, online, scripted lessons, I finally stumbled upon Leah. She takes the time to not just explain the concepts thoroughly, but puts them into perspective so it’s not just memorizing topics, but rather understanding the big picture concepts. Her explanations and personal attention are a much more “human” approach to learning the information for the MCAT.” – Stephanie

FAQ
Question: How come the Study Hall doesn’t include anything about Psychology and Sociology?
I firmly believe you should only learn from someone who’s a master at their craft — and I haven’t mastered these topics yet. Independently, I study and practice these topics so I can still help out and answer questions, but I’m not yet willing to call myself an expert. Once I feel that I can teach with 100% confidence, I will add these topics to the Study Hall.
Question: I haven’t taken XYZ subject. Will this program still help me? (The most common subjects not taken: Orgo 2 and Biochem)
This depends on how close you are to your MCAT date. I’ve worked with quite a few students who take an MCAT subject class after their MCAT. That’s okay, but this means you’ll have to put in twice the effort to learn the material on your own. The good news is that even students who have taken the class tend to forget some or all of the material. Each of the science bootcamps is taught from a beginner's perspective to ensure that if you ever missed something in your classes, or never took the classes, you still get the proper MCAT foundation in this subject.
Question: What if I’m planning to test after the dates mentioned here? (Late summer, next year, etc.)
I recommend devoting 6-8 months of study to your MCAT, for a minimum of 500 hours. If you’re testing just after the listed programs expire, you will have the option to extend for $449/mo with the option to cancel anytime.
If you’re testing in MORE THAN 1 year from now, I don’t recommend starting your MCAT prep just yet. Instead, your focus should be on acing your science classes and working on your extracurriculars like research, volunteering, and other adventures. These will improve your well-rounded personality and experience, making you a better overall med-school candidate.
Question: Have you taken the MCAT under the current scoring system?
I would if I could! Tutors and those affiliated with MCAT prep aren’t allowed to take the test — only people who actually intend to go to medical school are permitted. (I signed up for the new exam, got reported and banned). For that reason, I’m not able to take the test. To overcome that, I’ve done everything in my power to ensure a full understanding of today’s MCAT testing environment. This includes speaking to students after each and every MCAT test date since the new exam opened in 2015.
Question: If I sign up for the MCAT Study Hall, can you guarantee that I’ll reach my target score?
NO! No one should realistically make this type of guarantee. Every student is different, every situation is unique, and no matter how much I provide, at the end of the day, it comes down to you. How hard are you willing to work in order to attain your target MCAT score? I’ll do my best by helping you craft a strategy, by pointing you to the correct Study Hall resources, and by being there for you to help guide and motivate and answer your questions in live office hours, the Facebook group, email, and text. But at the end of the day, it will be up to you to put in the work and utilize the resources available.
Question: I’m taking my MCAT in a few weeks. Will I still benefit from this program?
This really depends on where you stand with your prep right now. If you have a solid strategy in place, are very comfortable with your basics, and are scoring as desired on your practice exams, then no. If, however, you want to maximize the final few weeks with strategic review and preparation, need brushing up with your basics, and want help raising your score, then yes. This is right for you.
Question: How do the Study Hall videos differ from the Leah4sci YouTube videos?
I get this question a lot, and no the Study Hall videos are definitely NOT the same as the videos I share freely on YouTube.
YouTube videos are something I do when I have time, covering small tidbits of random topics. Think of my YouTube videos as appetizers. Meant to help introduce a topic, each video is short and to the point. One concept, perhaps a practice question or two to follow along. YouTube videos do not cover everything, can be scattered, and certainly lack the ‘start to finish' approach you need for the MCAT, following the AAMC outline.
What Others Say About The MCAT Study Hall
“Leah’s MCAT Study Hall is a program that builds on core concepts needed for the MCAT from the ground up and really emphasizes the foundational concepts in a logical manner, which are important in understanding the more complex processes…. Leah’s MCAT program is tailored to work with everyone’s personal needs as she constantly supports you along this journey.” — Ruhani
“Like most people, when I think about the MCAT and the astronomical amounts of information you’re expected to know, I am overwhelmed by all the content I must learn and apply to test taking strategy and still be able to take the 7 hour marathon test…. You realize that you will likely never know everything and begin to think why bother knowing any of this at all. You also need to build taking strategy specific to the MCAT. These things all combine to create the scary “MCAT monster” that is a nightmare for the average pre-med…. When you juggle different things that you’re currently doing (full time employment for instance), it just makes it hard for you to see the best way to study for the MCAT. The strategy breaks that “monster” into smaller, manageable pieces. I had a hard time trying to make my schedule for everything else fit with my study schedule and with what to learn when. The strategy session just helped me to plan out everything and to master one topic at a time in my MCAT studying and still have time to attend to my normal activities during the week.” — Stephanie
“Hi Leah!! I just got out of my test and you’re one of the first people I wanted to tell and thank! I’m not sure how it went but what I do know is that your tutoring gave me the best shot I could have given!” — Katherina
“Leah’s MCAT Study Hall videos are unlike any other resource out there. I spent a year trying out every MCAT study resource I could find, but nothing or no one else clears concepts up as quickly and concisely as Leah does in her videos! I have always been the type of student to try to memorize as much as possible, but I’ve realized this is impossible for the amount of material the MCAT covers. Leah’s videos have enabled me to truly understand and engage with material so that challenging concepts and equations just “click” now, and I no longer feel pressured to flat out memorize what initially seemed like an endless sea of random concepts/equations. Thank you, Leah!!” — Lanee
