While MCAT prep is long and tedious, it doesn’t have to be an overwhelming process. Below you will find everything you need to help you prepare for the Medical College Admissions Test – The MCAT.
We’ll start with the basics, MCAT Math without a Calculator, along with in-depth science tutorials including videos, cheat sheets, practice quizzes and more.
But we won’t stop at content. Strategy is critical to helping you succeed on this test, and so we’ll cover everything from start to finish, from how-tos and strategy, to detailed MCAT study guides and more.
Be sure to check back frequently as I keep adding new MCAT resources to this page.

MCAT Math Without A Calculator
While the MCAT does not have a ‘math' section, you are still required to perform calculations WITHOUT A CALCULATOR, and not just the easy calculations either.
Think ‘in your head' multiplication and division of fractions, decimals, and scientific notation, trigonometry, and yes, even logarithms and antilogs.

MCAT Organic Chemistry
Orgo, perhaps because it requires problem solving more than just equations, can be the trickiest of the MCAT Chemistry topics. UNLESS… you learn how to make sense of the molecules, concepts and reactions.
My primary YouTube channel is all about organic chemistry. 250+ videos and counting. See them here: Leah4sci.com/YouTube. Also check out the Organic Chemistry Syllabus Companion for specific topics.
MCAT General Chemistry
Chemistry is the foundation of science. This section is all about how atoms, molecules and reactions (not their mechanisms). This series currently covers the basics, from stoichiometry and quantum numbers, to atomic specifics, acids bases and more.
- Stoichiometry and Reactions
- Quantum Numbers
- Molecular Geometry video
- Acid Base Ka/pKa pH/pOH Calculations
MCAT Physics
Hands down, physics is everyone's least favorite MCAT science, perhaps because the concepts are less intuitive than say, solubility in chemistry or the circulatory system in biology. Let's bring these difficult concepts and equations to life with some in-depth basics below
MCAT Biochemistry
Biochemistry is the one MCAT science that ties it all together. You'll see general chemistry concepts with organic chemistry structures and reactions, all to explain biological phenomena in more detail.
Let's start with the crucial components below
- Amino Acids
- Fischer Projections from chirality to sugars
- Hemoglobin and Oxygen Dissociation Curves on the MCAT
MCAT Biology
Biology is the most intense of the MCAT science, due to the volume of information to cover (from cells to theories, to systems and more). This is also the heaviest science on the MCAT tested in the Chem/Phys, Bio/Biochem and even the Psych/Soc section.
- Punnett Squares Cheat Sheet
- Meiosis/Mitosis Cheat Sheet
- Glycolysis Cheat Sheet
MCAT C.A.R.S
While not a ‘science' to study for, the CARS or Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills section can make or break your exam. For this section you need to master everything from reading comprehension and timing, to efficiency and ability in answering questions.
- Use this strategy to improve your MCAT passage Timing
- Then implement the Newspaper Strategy using Scientific Journals for MCAT Passage Reading Practice
MCAT and Premed Student Feedback
No single journey is unique, see how others have gotten through their MCAT and into medical school to learn and gain inspiration from their journeys.
