Subtraction of scientific notation: Ensure you have the same exponent power, subtract the coefficients

I just started watching your videos and they are very helpful. I can not imagine that I forgot how to do simple math. So this is helpful.
Leah on 2:00 minutes, are you dividing by 10 to move the decimal to the left to get -4?? and then you justified it for the other side as well dividing by 10 to get the decimal to also move to the left and get 50 right? I got confused there…..
