Chirality/Stereochemistry Video Series: Video 7
Finding R and S configurations for non-traditional molecules can be somewhat tricky. This video teaches you how to quickly find configurations of molecules presented in a Newman Projection. Learn how to view the molecule and quickly assign priority WITHOUT the need to redraw into a sawhorse projection.

I just discovered you and you are amazing at how well and clear you explain everything. I am confused on one thing, when do you decide to use swap method ( even number) and when do you just do one flip, go from S to R or R to S? Thank you.

Thank you for saving my life!!
if first carbon is achiral, and second carbon is chiral, and the lowest priority (#4) is in the back, is it already wedged?

Hello From Michigan 2017! Just wanted to say your videos are helping me so much in my orgo chem 1 class. My professor is very hard to understand and never takes her time to explain these things – just assumes we already know. Life savor! Thanks so much! 🙂
